The article presents selected aspects of a notary’s liability in tort. The considerations presented in the article also concern the legal status of modern notaries and the obligations imposed on notaries and related to their professional duties. The entire article was enriched with the literature on the subject and contemporary jurisprudence.Niniejszy artykuł porusza wybrane kwestie związane z problematyką odpowiedzialności cywilnoprawnej notariusza w świetle ustawy z dnia 14 lutego 1991 r. – Prawo o notariacie. Przedstawiono tu część zagadnień związanych z odpowiedzialnością deliktową notariusza. Rozważania prezentowane w artykule dotyczą także statusu prawnego współczesnego notariatu oraz powinności nałożonych na notariusza, a związanych z jego obowiązkami zawodowymi.
