    Cardiovascular diseases (CVD), which have become the biggest plaque of the XXI century, make more and more people face the problems connected to this illness. In my diploma thesis I have explained what cardiovascular diseases are, how our heart is built and how it works. I have also explicated how to identify the first symptoms of the disease, first aid and the treatment. Poland can boast of a very well-developed treatment of patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases programme. Owing to this, heart attacks are no longer fatal and patients who had suffered them can lead fairly normal life. Our society isn’t aware of the fact, that our lifestyle and eating habits have an extreme impact on our body and what will our future Autumn of life be like.
