Pozycja Implikacje kryzysu Unii Europejskiej dla dalszego procesu integracji(Oficyna Wydawnicza AFM, 2012) Stolarczyk, MieczysławThe Eurozone crisis, that made its presence felt especially between 2010 and 2011, illustrated that predicating the further European integration has become more difficult than it was a few years ago. Some of its consequences are already visible in a large scale; some will assuredly be noticed in a longer term. The aim of this case study is to indicate, according to the author’s opinion, which are the most important and direct implications of the EU crisis for the further development of the European Union integration. In the first part of the article, the author outlined the most probable results of the presumptive dissolution of Eurozone. In the second part, he demonstrated that the Eurozone crisis would lead to wider integration of the Euroland. Nonetheless, this closer integration will not mean building the United States of Europe, since among the EU societies there is no agreement to transform the EU into this kind of federal structure. In the present case study the author shows that the EU crisis has strengthen the differentiated level of integration, stressed the role of Germany in the EU, weaken significantly the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), strengthen the lack of democracy in the EU, contributed to slimming the welfare state and, finally, lowered attractiveness of EU model of integration.Pozycja Krakowskie Studia Międzynarodowe nr 3, 2012 (Prawno-polityczne wyzwania kryzysu Unii Europejskiej)(Oficyna Wydawnicza AFM, 2012) Barcz, Jan; Wagner, Helmut; Stolarczyk, Mieczysław; Podraza, Andrzej; Kabat-Rudnicka, Danuta; Munkelt, Peter; Kotulewicz, Karolina; Diawoł, Anna; Piziak-Rapacz, Anna; Habas, Paulina; Stankiewicz, Jakub; Fiałek, Sandra; Cziomer, Erhard; Cziomer, Erhard; Bednarczyk, BogusławaPozycja Traktat o stabilności, koordynacji i zarządzaniu w Unii Gospodarczej i Walutowej – Analiza krytyczna(Oficyna Wydawnicza AFM, 2012) Kabat-Rudnicka, DanutaInterdependence, characteristic for globalization processes, which is the most visible in the economic sphere, favors the spread of all kinds of phenomena, both positive and negative, including the financial crisis. In the time of financial crises, the European Union, an integrated economic entity, requires a common response from the Member States. The remedy to the problems of the countries of the monetary union, plunging into the financial crisis, is the recently adopted Treaty on stability, coordination and governance in the Economic and Monetary Union also referred to as the fiscal Pact. The distinctive feature of the Treaty is its intergovernmental character, which makes that it will operate in parallel to the European Union Treaties, what raises a number of questions and critical judgments. Particular attention is paid to the European Union institutions, notably the Commission and the Court of Justice that have been assigned new roles in the Treaty, extending beyond those provided for in the European Union Treaties, what can be seen as an infringement of the principle of rule of law.Pozycja Wpływ kryzysu w strefie euro na możliwość rozwoju zróżnicowanej integracji w Unii Europejskiej(Oficyna Wydawnicza AFM, 2012) Podraza, AndrzejThe euro zone crisis will seriously politically influence the development of integration in the whole European Union. In case of lack of proper response to the euro zone crisis there will take place diversified integration in the whole European Union which, assuming the most likely scenario, will initiate Europe of the so called “two speeds”, that is the very center comprising the states of euro zone on one hand, and its peripheral states connected with the center by means of their inner market on the other hand. The results of the diversified integration would take politically – institutional shape and might display federalization of euro zone and leaving the current institutional structure for the whole European Union. The crisis of the euro zone reveals weakness of the Lisbon Treaty solutions against their fervent supporters’ opinions concerning this amendment. In other words, The Lisbon Treaty did not save Europe against the crisis due to the fact that a reform of an institution without demonstrating political will of its state members does not mean much. The crisis of the euro zone proves the weakness of foundations on which The European Union is based. Also, it is an example of both a leadership crisis of its member states and the crisis of the whole European Union as well, which leads to the problem of legitimization. Summing up, the following issues have been analyzed in the article: the notion of crises in the EU (including their reasons), political consequences of most important crises of the fifties in the twentieth century, concepts and possibilities of the diversified integration as part of the European Union, possible scenarios and political consequences of the crisis for European integration in the euro zone.
