Pozycja Catholicism in The United States: Between liberalism and conservatism(Oficyna Wydawnicza AFM, 2011) Allitt, Patrick"Harvey Mansfield has always taken the long view. As he sees it, the way to approach an American topic is to ask first what the Founding Fathers said about it, then see what Tocqueville added. In the same way, his approach to any European issue starts out with a word from Plato and Aristotle, then moves along through Augustine and Aquinas to the opinions of Machiavelli and Edmund Burke. In this sense he’s just like the Catholic Church, which has always specialized in taking the long view, while trying to avoid being paralyzed by the weight of tradition. Taking the long view means being aware of oneself as part of an extended historical process, of being indebted to the insights of earlier generations, without being blind to those generations’ limitations. It usually guards against provincialism of time and place steers us away from utopianism, while helping us to see sensible ways forward."(...)Pozycja Is abortion a religious issue? And what if it is?(Oficyna Wydawnicza AFM, 2010) Brachowicz, Maciej"The purpose of this article is to examine whether abortion may be regarded as a religious issue, and what legal and political effects it creates under the American constitutional system assuming that it may be regarded that way. By asking if abortion is a religious issue I mean the following problem: are attitudes toward abortion shaped exclusively by religious convictions? That question certainly occurs on the one side of the abortion debate, namely among those who believe abortion should not be a lawful practice. Putting the question in this way still does not make it clear enough, as one may ask about the factor deciding if abortion really is a religious issue: is it the proportion of people drawing the conclusion as to the improperness of abortion from religious beliefs among all those who are convinced that abortion should not be a lawful practice, or is it the lack of some final conclusive argument against abortion (or general ignorance about the existence of such an argument among pro-life sympathizers) that is not dependent on religious beliefs?"(...)Pozycja Krakowskie Studia Międzynarodowe nr 2 specjalny, 2004 (Stany Zjednoczone a świat współczesny)(Oficyna Wydawnicza AFM, 2004) Nagórski, Andrew; Mansfield, Harvey C.; Winthrop, Delba; Bryk, Andrzej; Bryk, Andrzej; Rokicki, Jarosław; Rokicki, Jarosław; Paleczny, Tadeusz; Zyblikiewicz, Lubomir; Banaś, Monika; Walaszek, Adam; Staszków, Jan; Kłosowicz, Robert; Bryk, AndrzejPozycja Krakowskie Studia Międzynarodowe nr 2, 2006(Oficyna Wydawnicza AFM, 2006) Bryk, Andrzej; Świrkowicz, Jacek; Wiśniewski, Grzegorz; Brachowicz, Maciej; Sabik, Aleksandra; Grygajtis, Krzysztof; Majchrowski, Wojciech; Fałowski, Janusz; Cziomer, Erhard; Kućmierczyk, Elżbieta; Kapiszewski, Andrzej; Kobza, Piotr; Kapiszewski, AndrzejPozycja Krakowskie Studia Międzynarodowe nr 2, 2011 (The United States and religion)(Oficyna Wydawnicza AFM, 2011) Bryk, Andrzej; Allitt, Patrick; Barr, Stephen; Blitz, Mark; Domaradzki, Spasimir; Hayes, John; Hayes, John; Izquierdo, David Lorenzo; Lazarski, Christopher; Leo, Leonard; Mansfield, Harvey C.; McClay, Wilfred M.; Mittleman, Alan; Młodzianowska, Marta; Uberman, Robert; Weigel, George; Zuckert, Catherine; Neuhaus, Richard; Bryk, Andrzej; Bednarczyk, BogusławaPozycja Państwo i Społeczeństwo nr 4, 2005(Oficyna Wydawnicza AFM, 2005) Lewandowski, Henryk; Kostecki, Apoloniusz; Lubelski, Marek; Kubiak-Cyrul, Agnieszka; Tor, Krzysztof; Buczek, Andrzej; Hofmańska, Ewa; Smaga, Łukasz; Banasik, Katarzyna; Lewandowska-Malec, Izabela; Ślusarska, Renata; Karp, Janusz; Obirek, Stanisław; Czajkowski, Wojciech; Pulit, Anna; Olearczyk, Teresa; Galata, Stanisław; Zarzycki, Zdzisław; Kapiszewski, Andrzej
