Pozycja European Polygraph nr 2 (2), 2007(Oficyna Wydawnicza AFM, 2007) Widacki, Jan; Zagdan, Magdalena; Konieczny, Jerzy; Horvath, Frank; Widacki, JanPozycja Probability Assessment of the Value of Psychophysiological Stimuli(Oficyna Wydawnicza AFM, 2009) Saldžiūnas, Vitas; Kovalenko, Aleksandras; Soshnikov, Aleksandr P."During a psychophysiological test, the relative extent of psychophysiological reactions is recorded by means of a polygraph. Using testing methodology, a polygraphologist assesses these values and makes a decision: is the test subject associated with the crime; and if so, in what way? Every polygraphologist assesses which stimulus was able to produce psychophysiological reactions."(...)Pozycja The Problems of Truth Perception during PsychophysiologicaI Examination(Oficyna Wydawnicza AFM, 2009) Saldžiūnas, Vitas; Kovalenko, Aleksandras; Gaidarov, Kalin"The topic of lies is discussed in the works of Paul Ekman (1992) and Aldert Vrij (2000). Th e specifi c case of the Russian nation is described by V. Znakov. Unfortunately, the problem of truth during psychophysiological examination has been researched by very few scholars. Th e majority of authors refer to validity and accuracy. No discussion has taken place about how such truth (the facts) is established during psychophysiological examination. We noted that there were likely emotional and cognitive pathways that were involved in the production of observed PDD phenomena. The emotional pathway could be characterized as generally unconscious and automatic while the processes in the cognitive pathway were relatively more accessible to the conscious ness of the subject. Our earlier work focused on the cognitive pathway. Here we would like to offer some theoretical speculations about the unconscious emotional automatic pathways suggesting conditioning may play a role in generation of arousal in the PDD context."(...)
