Alibi Testing Potential in Polygraphic Examination
(Oficyna Wydawnicza AFM, 2008) Lewandowski, Edward; Lewandowski, Łukasz
"Elliot Aronson’s Social Psychology reads: “It would be good if there were an infallible examination to establish whether someone is lying […]. The police could ascertain whether the suspect’s claim that while the crime was being committed he was eating a sandwich at home is true.” The question of reliability of the alibi of those suspected of committing a crime is frequently a problem for officers of law enforcement and prosecution. In many cases, having that fact confirmed by the relatives of the suspect is not convincing for the officer. Polygraph examination could help to determine the actual whereabouts of a given person when the crime was being committed."(...)

Forensic examination of memory traces Part 1
(Oficyna Wydawnicza AFM, 2009) Lewandowski, Edward; Lewandowski, Łukasz
"What is a memory trace? An ideal trace, or just the opposite, a trace on which it is easiest to fi nd some fl aws? Does it exist in a material manner, and can it be examined in an objective way, or is it nonmaterial and ephemeral, with both its observation and assessment as subjective as human perception? We are not trying to answer these questions here; we are interested in the way in which the fact that everyone in our country has for many years agreed that the object of the polygraphic examination are memory traces practically infl uences or should influence the manner in which such examinations are conducted. Th e approach that we present diverges significantly from the majority of publications in this area of forensic studies, which is why we consider it important to provide it with its own name: forensic examination of memory traces."(...)

Forensic Examination of Memory Traces Part 2
(Oficyna Wydawnicza AFM, 2010) Lewandowski, Edward; Lewandowski, Łukasz
"Forensic examination of memory traces requires a change of approach to the polygraphic examination, especially the way in which it is conducted. To rely on a comparison, one may say that the diff erence between polygraphic examination as so far understood (lie detection, detection of deception, etc.) and forensic examination of memory traces is much like the difference between examination of traces and microtraces (microtraces are particles of matter or features of a physical action connected to an event that are hardly visible or not visible to the naked eye). Much as in the case of microtraces, the ability to disclose and protect memory traces is significant."(...)
