Pozycja Wydatki mieszkaniowe polskich gospodarstw domowych w latach 2003–2013(Oficyna Wydawnicza AFM, 2015) Wójciaczyk, WeronikaIn order to evaluate living conditions of particular households it is necessary to take into consideration both the physical characteristics of the premises occupied and the expenses for this purpose. Expenses distribution models can be used to describe the expenditures on the society level. Regression models explain the influence of particular independent variables on the level of housing expenditures. Between 2003 and 2013 housing expenses grew steadily, but the coefficient of variation remained stable, close to 100%. The Gini index of 0.4 indicates high inequality in expenses for housing and energy in the Polish society. The increase in housing expenses is associated with an increase in size of the place of residence, an increase in the number of household members and per capita income growth. Variables such as the size of the place of residence, per capita income and education of the household head have a greater impact on the amount of housing expenses for households tha t incur lower expenses for this purpose.
