Pozycja Państwo i Społeczeństwo 2019, nr 1 (XIX): Medycyna i Zdrowie publiczne(Oficyna Wydawnicza AFM, 2019) Kopiński, Piotr; Donesch-Jeżo, Ewa; Skorupska-Król, Agnieszka; Szewczyk, Iwona; Kurleto, Paulina; Marczyńska-Kołacz, Beata; Szepieniec, Wioletta Katarzyna; Szymanowski, Paweł; Tomková, Šárka; Gurín, Daniel; Špringrová Palaščáková, Ingrid; Sowizdraniuk, Piotr; Sowizdraniuk, Joanna; Galicka-Brzezina, Anna; Leks-Sadowska, Sylwia; Madej, Andrzej; Kalemba-Drożdż, MałgorzataZe wstępu: "Kolejny numer „Państwa i Społeczeństwa”, poświęcony – zgodnie ze swym podtytułem – medycynie i zdrowiu publicznemu, zawiera cztery prace oryginalne (w tym jedną w języku angielskim), dwie poglądowe i jeden opis przypadku. Szczególną uwagę chciałbym jednak zwrócić Czytelnikom na – w naszym odczuciu – ważny tekst, jakim jest wspomnienie w rocznicę śmierci naszego Kolegi i Przyjaciela, profesora Bogusława Frańczuka; słowa „wspaniały człowiek, lekarz oddany zawsze swoim Pacjentom”, jakże często nadużywane, oddają tu ściśle istotę rzeczy. Cześć Jego Pamięci!"(...)Pozycja Screening of the pelvic floor muscle strenght of female physiotherapists(Oficyna Wydawnicza AFM, 2019) Šárka, Tomková; Daniel, Gurín; Ingrid, Špringrová PalaščákováIntroduction: The study compares contractions of pelvic floor muscles of female physiotherapists examined per vaginam with the results of the tests presented using Peritone device. Materials and methods: 23 female respondents were tested and evaluated as a correlation between the muscle strength P within the PERFECT scale and the measurements of maximum voluntary contraction using Peritone device performed by two examinators. Results: The diff erences in the results of the study using two methods were not statistically signifi cant. There was also no signifi cant diff erence in two independent examinations of the pelvic fl oor muscle strength performed by two physiotherapists. Conclusion: Based on the results of our study we can state that female respondents of our study were assessed from the viewpoint of pelvic fl oor muscle strength expressed by the means of the PERFECT scale referring to good results.Pozycja Urethral Profilometry – should it be discarded?(Oficyna Wydawnicza AFM, 2023) Szweda, Hanna; Szymanowski, PawełBackground: Urethral profilometry was developed as a scientific research method rather than for everyday clinical use. However, it was implemented as an integral part of urodynamic diagnostics for clinical use. Although it has been used for over 70 years, there are still no clear guidelines, either for the technique or for the indications and interpretation of the data obtained in this study. There are many inaccuracies and doubts about the method. Material and methods: The authors of this manuscript present a review of the options for urethral function diagnostics and the position of urethral profilometry among them. The literature and clinical aspects of their investigation are discussed in this article. The sources of the limitations of urethral profilometry and their importance in clinical practice and the interpretation of results are analyzed. Results: Urethral profilometry has many limitations. Their sources are urethral anatomy and structure, equipment, patient collaboration and the examination technique. The repeatability is debatable, but doubts surrounding it seem to be exaggerated. Despite all this many valuable data can be obtained by performing an examination. Conclusions: Despite the limitations, urethral profilometry is a useful clinical tool for functional diagnostics of the urethra. Developing precise guidelines regarding indications, technique and interpretation of the assessment would be essential in order to take advantage of this diagnostic method.
