| dc.description.abstract | W artykule przedstawiono wydarzenia związane z protestem przeciwko budowie rurociągu Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) w okolicach rezerwatu Standing Rock w Dakocie Północnej w 2016 r. Taktyki stosowane przez przeciwników i zwolenników projektu są analizowane w kontekście polityki rządu amerykańskiego w stosunku do rdzennych mieszkańców Stanów Zjednoczonych. Użycie retoryki, praktyk i środków z zakresu obrony antyterrorystycznej w celu pacyfikacji z założenia pokojowego protestu jest nie tylko przykładem reakcji rządu amerykańskiego na problematyczne działania własnych obywateli, ale również rzuca więcej światła na status i faktyczną niekorzystną sytuację Indian we współczesnej Ameryce. | pl |
| dc.description.abstract | The main focus of the paper is the protest against the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) near Standing Rock Indian Reservation in North Dakota in 2016. The strategies employed by the opponents and supporters of the project are analyzed in the wider context of the relations between the US federal government and Native American nations. Counter-terrorism rhetoric, methods, and measures used in the process of pacification of that fundamentally peaceful protest is not only an example of how the US government deals with its citizens’ resistance but also sheds more light on the current, unfavorable situation and status of Native Americans in contemporary America. | pl |
