dc.description.abstract | This article is on the subject of implications of Euro zone crisis for EU Common Security and Defense Policy. Financial crisis directly influences security of membership countries not only in economic terms, but it influences military security as well. However, it does not only affect Euro zone countries, but it is also experienced by countries of the whole European Union and it is carried out in the policies of these countries within the whole EU. One of them is EU Common Security and Defense Policy which is characterized by many difficulties connected with its realization apart from the fact whether Europe is affected by financial crisis or not. The author is trying to investigate how the current situation is influencing and will influence CSDP due to the lack of political will for wider common financing of EU activities, and if it is possible to carry out ambitious plans while defense budgets of membership countries are decreased. On the one hand, the crisis may lead to strengthening negative phenomenon, on the other hand, it may be a chance to improve already existing institutions and mechanisms which, because of economic problems, should work more effectively. The implications also include problems of military sector that may collapse because of the savings, and that fact may have consequences in military sector and cause far-reaching political problems in national and international dimension. Military operation in Libya was a good chance to check the condition of EU CSDP. It exposed the deficiencies of the Europeans, and only drawing appropriate conclusions will allow necessary changes also in terms of finances for military sector. | pl |
