| dc.description.abstract | After many internal discussions NATO authorities decided to create a new strategic concept during the anniversary summit in 2009. A group of 12 experts from Member States prepared the ground for NATO strategic changes in a document called „Albright Report”. Based on the document the Lisbon Summit (2010) adopted a new strategic concept adapting NATO to the new challenges and threats to Euro-Atlantic security. The concept adopted three main tasks for NATO: collective defense, crisis management and development of the cooperative security with other international actors. New security threats to allied countries were more widely recognized. The implementation of the new strategic concept was hindered by the aggressive tendencies in international activities of Russia, the crisis phenomena in the economy of the Member States and the complex problem of Afghanistan. The new Lisbon concept of NATO facilitated Poland the development of security within the Euro-Atlantic Partnership. | pl |
