Pozycja A Telecollaboration Project on Giving Online Peer Feedback: Implementing a Multilateral Virtual Exchange During a Pandemic(National Research University Higher School of Economics, 2021) Ennis, Michael Joseph; Verzella, Massimo; Montanari, Silvia; Sendur, Agnieszka M.; Pissarro, Marieta SimeonovaPozycja Academic Malpractice in Tests and Exams from an International Perspective(Wydawnictwo Naukowe Uniwersytetu Mikołaja Kopernika, 2022) Sendur, Agnieszka M.Cheating in exams and other forms of academic dishonesty have been reported to be a serious issue in many countries. A lot of research has been conducted on the topic, but it focuses mainly on the US context. Studies pertaining to the problem in other countries are rather scarce. The existing research considers the issue from different perspectives. Some studies concentrate on the scope of the problem in a particular country, others choose to research individual and contextual factors in cheating, or students’ perceptions of and attitudes towards exam malpractice. The surveys are often restricted to selected nationalities, the questions are limited to the frequency of cheating and they rarely include reference to the methods used. In reaction to the rarity of research on cheating methods among students from different cultural backgrounds, an international questionnaire survey was undertaken. Its aim, among others, was to answer two research questions: (1) What methods do students use to cheat in tests and exams? (2) Are there significant cultural differences in the way students cheat in tests and exams? Students from France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Ukraine, the USA and other countries were asked in an online questionnaire about the methods they have used to cheat in tests and exams. The results of the survey conducted on 1309 students show that there are similarities but also differences between the cultures with reference to the scope and to the methods used to cheat. The findings should be taken into consideration in classroom and high-stakes assessment, but also in any cross-national comparisons of students’ outcomes. Teachers, administrators and researchers ought to be aware that the differences in attitudes towards academic cheating between the nationalities may influence test validity.Pozycja Activities of the Customs Service aimed at Combating Crime in Trade as an Element of Securing the Effective and Efficient Collection of Budget Revenue(Wydawnictwo SAN, 2016) Świerczyńska, JowitaThe Customs Service, carrying out a function of a revenue collector, collects not only customs duties but also other charges and taxes comprising budget revenue. They constitute approximately 30% of the total state budget revenue. The aim of the article is to present the significance of the Customs Service operations in combating crime, thus increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of collecting public duties. Due to the volume and complexity of the problem of customs crime, as well as the scope of fiscal duties of customs authorities, the analysis is focused on trade in goods. With this regard, the method of descriptive and comparative analysis has been employed. The performed analysis has lead to a conclusion that taxes collected by the Customs Service related to trade in goods, constitute a very solid and reliable source of budget revenue, hence, ensuring the effective and efficient collection of the duties is vital from the perspective of state finances.Pozycja Adropin in polycystic ovarian syndrome: expression and impact on human granulosa cells function(BioScientifica Limited, 2026-08-14) Kurowska, Patrycja; Dawid, Monika; Respekta-Długosz, Natalia; Oprocha, Julia; Szkraba, Oliwia; Skrzypski, Marek; Couty, Noémie; Ramé, Christelle; Guérif, Fabrice; Wyroba, Jakub; Kochan, Joanna; Gajda, Lechosław; Trzcińska, Monika; Dupont, Joelle; Rak, AgnieszkaAbstract: „Adropin is a novel protein that regulates energy homeostasis. Serum and follicular fluid (FF) levels of adropin are decreased in women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS); however, its role in ovarian function remains unknown. The aims of this study were to determine the expression of adropin and its receptor G protein-coupled receptor 19 (GPR19), in human granulosa cells (GC), its immunolocalization, and its in vitro effects on GC function. Blood plasma, FF, and GC samples were obtained from normal-weight, obese, and women diagnosed with or without PCOS (n = 8). The in vitro effects of adropin on GC proliferation, apoptosis, cell cycle progression, and steroidogenesis were analyzed. The results revealed that adropin plasma concentration was decreased in obese patients, with a similar reduction observed in obese patients with PCOS, whereas GPR19 expression was decreased in the GC of obese and PCOS women, as well as in obese patients with PCOS. We noted that in all investigated patient groups, adropin reduced GC proliferation and cell cycle progression, negatively influenced steroidogenic enzyme levels, and promoted apoptosis. Such disruptions in GC function are likely to impair ovarian follicular maturation and contribute to the subfertility commonly observed in PCOS. These alterations may ultimately affect oocyte competence and ovarian responsiveness, parameters that are clinically relevant for in vitro fertilization outcomes. Our findings suggest that adropin may act as a novel regulator of ovarian function and could contribute to the pathophysiology of PCOS, highlighting its potential clinical value as a marker of altered ovarian follicular function in affected women.”(…)Pozycja Age-Dependent Association Between Insomnia and Body Mass Index Among Young Women: Evidence from a Cross-Sectional Study(Licensee MDPI, Basel, Switzerland, 2025-12-16) Merklinger-Gruchała, Anna; Goździalska, Anna; Bień, Agnieszka; Grzesik-Gąsior, JoannaAbstract: "Sleep disturbances, particularly insomnia, are increasingly recognized as important determinants of health. Previous studies have shown bidirectional associations between sleep quality and obesity. Limited evidence exists on the modifying role of age in the relationship between insomnia symptoms and body mass index (BMI) among women. This study aimed to evaluate the association between insomnia symptoms and BMI in women, with a specific focus on the potential effect of age. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 72 female nursing students aged 21–48 years. Data were collected via an online questionnaire including demographic, occupational, and anthropometric variables, as well as the Athens Insomnia Scale (AIS) to assess insomnia symptoms. BMI was calculated based on self-reported weight and height. Logistic and multiple linear regression models were used to evaluate the relationship between AIS scores and BMI and age. Results: Overall, insomnia severity was not directly associated with BMI in the full sample (p = 0.55). However, a significant interaction between insomnia symptoms and age was observed (p = 0.02). Among women aged ≥37 years, higher AIS scores were positively associated with BMI (β = 0.59; p = 0.06), whereas this association was absent in younger participants. Conclusions: Insomnia symptoms showed a trend toward a positive association with higher BMI, primarily among older women, suggesting an age-dependent relationship between sleep disturbances and body weight. Screening for sleep problems and promoting sleep hygiene could serve as simple, low-cost preventive strategies for maintaining metabolic health in women."(...)Pozycja Alokacja jednoprocentowa w perspektywie regionalnej – współpraca samorządu województwa z organizacjami pożytku publicznego(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2013-12) Piechota, GrażynaThe article is devoted to an analysis of the allocation of 1 percent of income tax from the perspective of local cooperation between voivodship authorities and public benefit organisations. Research carried out in 2012–2013 confirmed the uneven allocation of 1 per cent between voivodships (amounts that are allocated by residents vs. amounts that voivodship-based organisations have at their disposal) and within voivodships. Research revealed that voivodship authorities do not cooperate with organisations seated there as regards campaigns aimed at obtaining 1 percent of tax. The activities of voivodship authorities' are rather symbolic and 1 percent of tax is still not treated as a financing instrument to obtain money for the region’s development understood as the realisation of common good by locally active organisations. W drugiej sytuacji, będzie on zmuszony do tworzenia własnych pomocy dydaktycznych. Pozycja Analysis of the day 3 transfer strategy for POSEIDON patients(SBRA - Associação Brasileira de Reprodução Assistida, 2025-07-30) Wyroba, Jakub; Kochan, JoannaAbstract: „Objective: The aim of the study was to analyze the effectiveness of the day 3 ET strategy, and the morphology of the transferred embryos, in patients from POSEIDON and non-POSEIDON groups. Methods: 600 cycles of patients meeting the POSEIDON criteria and 600 non-POSEIDON cycles were analyzed to determine the proportion of cycles with an ET on days 3 or 5, or FET. Then we reviewed 330 day 3 ETs to compared the developmental stage, morphology, zona pellucida thickness and implantation potential of embryos transferred on day 3 from POSEIDON and non-POSEIDON patients. Results: Most cycles of POSEIDON patients end with ET on day 3 (42%) or without transfer (37%). In contrast, most cycle of non-POSEIDON patients end with FET (44%) and just 9% is canceled. The lowest percentage of embryos at the morula stage was recorded in POSEIDON groups III (10%) and IV (9%). The average number of cells in embryos was comparable in all groups. The largest percentage of top-quality embryos (grade A) were in POSEIDON group I (47%) .The highest implantation potential were observed in the non-POSEIDON group <35Y (28%), and in POSEIDON groups I (28%) and III (26%). The highest incidence of miscarriage was recorded in all POSEIDON and non-POSEIDON groups that included patients who were ≥35 years of age. Conclusions: The day 3 ET strategy still seems optimal for POSEIDON patients. The prognosis depends on which Poseidon group the patient is in. The best prognosis is for group I and the worst for group IV.”(…)Pozycja Anti-inflammatory properties of cantharellus cibarius from in vitro culture enriched in zinc(Polish Pharmaceutical Society, 2018) Gudula-Argasińska, Joanna; Grzywacz, Agata; Krakowska, Agata; Opoka, Włodzimierz; Muszyńska, BożenaCantharellus cibarius Fr. (Basidiomycota), commonly known as Chanterelle, is one of the most valued and currently most often collected species of edible mushrooms in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the northern USA. Cantharellus genus (chanterelles) includes seventy species, seven of which are noted in Europe. Due to the valuable and biologically active metabolite content in the fruiting bodies, C. cibarius was selected for the study. The combinations of carbohydrates, amino acids, unsaturated fatty acids, and vitamins revealed the nutritional, in particular, anti-inflammatory properties of this species. Zinc (Zn) is one of the microelements present in significant quantities in the fruiting bodies and biomass from in vitro cultures of edible mushrooms. Zn plays a crucial role as an anti-inflammatory agent. This paper presents a study on investigation of the pro- or antiinflammatory properties of mushroom extracts from fruiting bodies and biomass from in vitro culture of C. cibarius enriched in Zn. As an additive to the modified Oddoux liquid medium, on which in vitro C. cibarius cultures were grown, the following two compounds were used: zinc sulfate and zinc hydroxyaspartate. In order to compare which complex will most effectively increase the anti-inflammatory activity of C. cibarius, inorganic and organic compounds were used. Both zinc salts were used in such quantities that the calculated additive amount of zinc into the culture media was the same. Control cultures were represented by in vitro cultures on Oddoux medium grown without the supplementation of zinc compounds. In addition, we studied which source of zinc is best for enhancing anti-inflammatory properties in A549 (Human Lung Epithelial Carcinoma, ATCC) cell models activated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) to induce inflammation. Results of the study showed the important role of zinc during inflammation in the lung epithelial cells. Cantharellus cibarius in vitro cultures with high ability to accumulate zinc enabled the precise application of zinc compounds at a known concentration that may influence their immuno-modulatory properties.Pozycja Anti-Müllerian Hormone Concentrations in Women of Different Reproductive Age and the Chances of IVF Outcome: A Paradigm Shift is needed(ISOAD, 2026-02-01) Wyroba, Jakub; Kochan, Joanna; Kelley, Liam; Iqbal, Sharif; Kordowitzki, PawelAbstract: „The study of Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) has garnered considerable attention due to its critical implications in assessing and understanding both female and male fertility potential. Traditionally, AMH is recognized for its pivotal role in evaluating ovarian reserve and is a cornerstone in reproductive health assessments for women. The aim of this study was to challenge the traditional interpretation of AMH as a standalone predictor of IVF success. Through a retrospective analysis of 600 patients undergoing ICSI, we reveal that women with low AMH levels, traditionally classified as poor responders, can achieve unexpectedly high oocyte numbers, blastocyst formation, and pregnancy rates. This highlights the limitations of using AMH alone to predict IVF outcomes. Our findings advocate the importance of integrating additional factors, such as follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), and the need for a more individualized approach to fertility treatment planning.”(…)Pozycja Antyunijne imperium ojca Rydzyka. Pozycja Application of social media in political communication of local leaders in election processes (on the example of Facebook’s use by mayors of voivodship cities in Poland in the 2010 election campaign)(Wydawnictwo Naukowe Wydziału Nauk Politycznych i Dziennikarstwa Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu, 2011-12) Piechota, GrażynaWykorzystanie w procesach komunikacji politycznej serwisów społecznościowych (in. mediów społecznych) należy do wciąż nowych zjawisk, których rola jednak rośnie. Pozycja Application physiotherapy in rehabilitation rheumatoid arthritis(Instytut Kultury Fizycznej UKW w Bydgoszczy, 2016) Grygus, Igor; Nogas, Angela; Prymachok, LiudmylaBackground: Rheumatoid arthritis is one of the most common forms of inflammatory diseases of the joints. The disease leads to deformation, then to destruction of the diseased joint and to disability. Physiotherapy is used for the treatment and rehabilitation of rheumatoid arthritis. It is assumed that physiotherapy treatments that promote remission of the disease, improve the quality of patients’ life, create the necessary conditions for comprehensive rehabilitation programs. Objective: Systematic’s review conducting of studies that assess the effect of physiotherapy in the rehabilitation of patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Methods: Theoretical analysis of scientific and methodical literature, methods of analysis, synthesis, generalization. Results: To reduce inflammation in the joints is performed UV of affected joints weak or medium erythermal or middle erythermal doses 185 used UHF therapy. UHF-therapy prescribed to the area of joint in I or II dose, duration 10 min., the course – 5-8 treatments. For patients with minimal activity is added electrophoresis NSAIDs. Electrophoresis aspirin is applied on the affected joints (every day, the course – 10-12 procedures), which favorably affect the course of rheumatoid arthritis. Conclusions: Physical therapy can reduce pain and stiffness in the joints, prevent deformity and restore function, improve independence and quality of life. State of the art is a major incentive to develop new activities in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients with rheumatoid arthritis to improve joint functional activity and their physical health.Pozycja Architektoniczne huby: dobudówki, doklejki, zszycia – awangardowe kreacje czy wyraz nowych potrzeb(Wydawnictwo Politechniki Krakowskiej im. Tadeusza Kościuszki, 2012) Palej, Anna; Homiński, Bartłomiej; Palej, MichałArchitektoniczne huby to współczesne gadżety wysokiej jakości. Pozycja Assessment of molecular dynamics in natural Shilajit using low-field NMR relaxometry for geographical traceability(De Gruyter, 2026-01-19) Kamgar, Elham; Baranowska, Hanna Maria; Kaykhaii, Massoud; Nowicki, Marcin; Kowalczewski, Przemysław Łukasz; Zembrzuska, JoannaShilajit (Mumijo) is a phytomineral exudate known for its therapeutic potential, traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine. Its molecular composition and consequently its therapeutic properties are influenced by geographical origin. Low-field nuclear magnetic resonance (LF NMR) offers a non-destructive tool to assess the molecular behavior of Shilajit rapidly and non-destructively. Twelve raw Shilajit samples from five regions (Iran, India, Nepal, Russia, and Kyrgyzstan) were analyzed using LF NMR at 15 MHz. Longitudinal magnetization relaxation (T1) and transverse magnetization relaxation (T2) relaxation times were measured using an inversion-recovery and Carr–Purcell– Meiboom–Gill pulse sequence, respectively. Three distinct relaxation behavior groups were identified. Group I showed only T1 (solid samples with undetectable T2), group II exhibited single T1 and T2 (moderately viscous, hydrated samples), while group III revealed biphasic T2 relaxation (indicating proton heterogeneity). Clear differences in relaxation profiles were observed across geographical origins, with Iranian samples showing the widest range of T1 values, while Russian and some Iranian samples exhibited dual T2 components. LF NMR relaxation parameters (T1, T2) are strongly dependent on the geographic origin and molecular structure of Shilajit. The technique shows promise for use in authentication and traceability of Shilajit, enabling differentiation based on relaxation signatures.Pozycja Association between PM10 air pollution and birth weight after full-term pregnancy in Krakow city 1995–2009 – trimester specificity(http://www.aaem.pl/, 2015) Merklinger-Gruchała, Anna; Kapiszewska, MariaIntroduction and objective. The results of epidemiological studies indicate that the higher maternal exposure to air pollution, especially with particulate matter during pregnancy, the lower the infant’s birth weight. The aim of this study was to estimate entire pregnancy and trimester-specific exposure of pregnant women in the city of Krakow, southern Poland, to fine particulate matter [≤10 μg (PM10)], and to assess its effect on the birth weight of boys and girls separately. Material and methods. The study group consisted of 85,000 singleton, live, full-term births in Krakow city during a 15-year period (data from the birth registry). The mean concentrations of the pollutant for each month of gestation were estimated using continuous municipal monitoring data. Results. Multiple linear regression analyses indicated that the mean PM10 concentration during entire pregnancy was inversely associated with birth weight in girls and the group of boys and girls combined, after adjusting for maternal age, gestational age and year of birth; in boys the relationship was not statistically significant. Maternal exposure to PM10 during the first trimester was negatively associated with birth weight separately in girls and boys, and the group of boys and girls combined. However, the PM10 exposure during the second and third trimester of pregnancy was not associated with birth weight. Conclusions. PM10 air pollution at levels currently encountered in Krakow city adversely affect infant birth weight; however, the effect seems to be very small. The influence of particulate air pollution on foetal growth in early gestation is one of several possible explanations for the results, but further research is needed to establish possible biological mechanisms explaining the observed relationship.Pozycja Australijskie prawo konkurencji – zagadnienia wybrane(Wydawnictwo Naukowe Wydziału Zarządzania Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego, 2013) Kohutek, KonradW artykule przedstawiono wybrane zagadnienia prawa konkurencji obowiązującego w Australii. Pozycja A novel ACVRL1 mutation in a patient with hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia coexisting with pulmonary arterial hypertension(Medycyna Praktyczna, 2025-12-10) Waligóra, Marcin; Krupa -Zabiegała, Julia; Wypasek, Ewa; Karpiński, Marek; Stępniewski, Jakub; Kopeć, GrzegorzPozycja Bent, czyli bliżej Becketta(Instytut Sztuki Pan; Stowarzyszenie LIBER PRO ARTE, 2008) Taszycka, AnnaThe authoress analyses 'Bent', a Sean Mathias film from 1997. The action of the movie takes place in the 1930s, in Nazi controlled Germany. The main character of the film, Max (Clive Owen) ends up in concentration camp in Dachau, where he refuses to admit to his homosexuality, but presents himself as a Jew. As a consequence on his prison garment there is a yellow Star of David instead of a pink triangle. During the transport to Dachau, Max meets Horst (Lothaire Blumenau), who wears his pink triangle with pride. In the last scene of the film Max also puts on prison clothes with the pink triangle badge, and it becomes clear that the film is about his search for identity. The authoress highlights the theatrical artificiality with which the film was made. She identifies it as a pursuit of the effect of otherness that is known from Bertold Brecht's dramas, but in her analysis and search of theatrical analogies, she goes one step further, and in the plain and reserved form of the film, its drama like quality, its rhythm and symbolism she finds echoes of Samuel Becket's plays and style, thus allowing her to classify 'Bent' as a film in the style of Becket.
